The cryogenic stationary tanks are designed for long term storage
of cryogenic liquefied gases under pressure. Inner vessels are made
of austenitic stainless steel and cold stretched for selected
medium / high pressure models. These tanks are available in
vertical or horizontal arrangement and they can be used for LIN,
LOX, LAR, LNG, CO2 and
N2O.
Lifting lugs with stainless steel inlay, integral shipping supports
and high quality vacuum-perlite system insulation with molecular
sieve adsorber have proven high performance and extended hold time
for lower life cycle cost for the vacuum-insulated double wall
tanks.
Optionally, the vertical cryogenic stationary tanks can be
manufactured with thermosyphon which are good for cylinder filling
applications. Karbonsan designs and manufactures the thermosyphon
tanks considering the user needs and difficulties encountered on
site. Thus, the tanks provide a reliable and efficient cylinder
filling ability and decline at the losses and pump maintenance
costs.
Thanks to strong relations with the gas industry, Karbonsan uses

The maximum allowable working pressure of the cryogenic stationary
tanks for cryogenic liquefied gases such as liquid nitrogen, liquid
oxygen, liquid argon and liquid natural gas ranges between 2 bar
and *7 bar depending on application.
By our versatile design, high flow and fast filling characteristics
and capability of manual and automatic working alternatives and low
maintenance costs, our tanks are preferred in domestic and
international markets. Ergonomic designed piping layout is good for
ease of access, operation and maintenance and it is easy to install
telemetry unit, liquid level and pressure transmitters. The filling
and delivery connections can be customized. Flow Diverter valve
with the dual relief valves are used as standard and as a secondary
safety devices, the cryogenic air gases stationary tanks are
equipped with the bursting discs.
Although cryogenic stationary tanks are based on a standard design,
they can be customized as per specific application and
requirements. The bulk tanks are designed according to EC Directive
PED *7/*3/EC, using the standards AD ***0 and EN
******2
Section VII, Division 1 of the ASME Code and other national
pressure vessel codes are also provided as
required.
Cryogenic
Semi-Trailers

Considering their densities, cryogenic semi-trailers are designed
for the maximized transport of liquefied cryogenic gases; LIN, LOX,
LAR, LCO2 and
LNG.
As the payload of semi-trailers has a substantial impact on
profitability, Karbonsan tries to do its best to provide its
customers the highest possible capacity without compromising safety
and durability.
Karbonsan designs semi-trailers with excellent rollover stability
and handling with lower centre of gravity, lighter tare, shorter
length and wide wheel base. Super multi-layer insulation and
designing the tanker considering the gas which the customer intends
to use are also critical issues to reach the optimum design, this
way the product in the semi-trailer can be stored for extended
periods without venting through the boil-off. The investment pays
itself sooner than you can imagine.
The filling can be done by either pressure transfer or use of a
centrifugal pump. Cabinets and pumping arrangements can be designed
to suit the customers specifications and requirements. Ergonomic

Cryogenic Engineered

The
cryogenic design of engineered tanks combines safe, flexible and
economical operation with their high quality vacuum-perlite
insulation. The cryogenic engineered tanks are available in
vertical or horizontal arrangement and mainly used for the
long-term storage of LNG as well as air gases. The inner vessel is
made of stainless steel for cryogenic temperatures and outer jacket
is combined with leg and lifting lug system providing safe
transport, easy lifting and low cost erection.
Engineered products are not limited only to the tanks. Our scope of
work in engineered products includes vacuum jacketed piping,
storage, and delivering of vaporized products at desired flow,
pressure and temperature, as per process demand. Although cryogenic
engineered tanks are based on a standard design, Karbonsan offers a
wide choice of options to adapt to your exact requirements. The
standard units are enriched with optional switches, transmitter
and/or telemetry unit.
Engineered tanks can be supplied with ambient type of vaporizers,
pipelines and other cryogenic components for a complete
installation. The tanks are insulated with a proved high quality
vacuum-perlite system with molecular sieve adsorber. Karbonsan
cryogenic engineered storage tanks are designed in accordance with
directive *7/*3/EC, using the standards AD ***0M, EN ****8, the PED
(EC directive *7/*3/EC) as well as ASME for storage of cryogens in
large volumes from *0 m3 to
**0 m3 with
maximum allowable working pressure up to *4
bars.
LNG
Systems
The very
concept of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a response to the
inefficiency of natural gas pipelines and the technical and the
economical problems of running pipelines over long
distances.
If natural
gas is cooled at minus **0.5° C, it becomes liquid and more
compact, occupying just 1/**0th of its gaseous volume. This is
because most of the heavier hydrocarbons are removed during
liquefaction.
The LNG is
predominantly methane (over *0%) — a colourless, odourless,
transparent liquid which is non-toxic, non-corrosive and less dense
than water. As LNG is highly volatile, specialist operators are
involved in its transportation.

Natural Gas

gas.

The LNG

Transport:
LNG can be
transported by ships, ISO tank containers, semi-trailers and road
tankers to the locations where there is no pipe line. LNG ISO tank
containers, semi-trailers and road tankers are mostly preferred to
be suitable for cryogenic service. Karbonsan builds ISO tank
containers in compliance with ADR, RID, IMO, DOT and other specific
norms and also efficient, lightweight cryogenic vacuum insulated
LNG semi-trailers and rigid tankers for the road transport of
LNG.
Satellite
Plants:
Karbonsan
offers various types of LNG satellite plants, enabling natural gas
to be used at off pipeline locations. The terminals are designed to
fit customers requirements in terms of storage capacity and flow
demand.
Re-Fuelling
Stations
LNG and LCNG
stationary and mobile fuelling stations serve heavy-duty trucks,
buses, refuse vehicles and frequently operated fleet vehicles.

equipments which are not at its product range to provide a complete
turn-key service for LNG and LCNG stationary and mobile fuelling

Storage
Tanks
Karbonsan
provides horizontal or vertical LNG storage tanks with capacity
ranging between 2.**0 and **0.**0 litres gross volume. These
stationary tanks are high vacuum and perlite
insulated.
Vaporizers
The ambient
vaporizers utilize direct heat and mass transfer from the heat
available in the atmosphere. Karbonsan manufactures aluminium
star-fin ambient vaporizers, the most efficient technology within
the industry to guarantee the pressure, flow and temperature of the
outgoing gas as per the customers specification. The ambient
vaporizers do not have any moving parts which provide maximized
reliability and zero maintenance.
Interconnecting
Pipe
These pipes
can be both classical PUR foam insulated or vacuum jacketed (super
insulation + vacuum). Depending on application, vacuum jacketed
pipe should be preferred when LNG is used as the engine fuel.
